The Rams Poised for an Aggressive First-Round Move
The Los Angeles Rams could be set to make a bold move during Thursday night’s NFL Draft. For the first time since 2016, the Rams are slated to have a first-round pick, and according to reports, they are looking to make the most of it.

According to Dianna Russini of The Athletic, the Rams are making calls to trade into the top-10 of the draft order. This would not be out of character for the Rams, as general manager Les Snead has a history of trading up in the first round when picking in the middle of the round. In 2013, the Rams traded from 16th overall to 8th to select wide receiver Tavon Austin. Then in 2016, they traded up to the 1st overall pick to take quarterback Jared Goff.

One player that has been gaining traction as a potential target for the Rams is Texas defensive lineman Byron Murphy. Murphy is viewed as a player who could step in and help fill the void left by the retirement of superstar Aaron Donald. Russini discussed this possibility on The Herd with Colin Cowherd, noting that the Rams appear poised to be aggressive in their pursuit of top-tier talent to bolster their roster.
Overall, it seems highly likely that the Rams will make a bold move on draft night as they look to add an impact player to their team. Their history of trading up in the first round, combined with their current need for talent, makes them a team to watch closely as the 2024 NFL Draft unfolds.
