In the game between the Baltimore Orioles and Los Angeles Angels, Gunnar Henderson was hit by a pitch in his first at-bat, earning himself a free trip to first base. Later, when he came up to bat again, Henderson retaliated by hitting a home run, scoring four runs for his team.

In the top of the third inning, Henderson had his second plate appearance against Angels starter Tyler Anderson. After receiving a high ball one, Henderson hit an outside cutter with an exit velocity of 98.9 mph and a launch angle of 31 degrees, resulting in a 379-foot home run to right-center, just clearing the outfield wall.

This was Henderson’s eighth home run of the season and his 18th RBI.According to Sarah Langs of MLB.com, Henderson’s eight homers are the most by a player aged 22 or younger through the first 25 games of a season in franchise history, which includes the Orioles’ 71 seasons and the St. Louis Browns’ 52 seasons. Henderson still has one more game to extend his record.
