Entering the 2024 NFL season, the Miami Dolphins have a point to prove following their Wild Card Round defeat to the eventual Super Bowl champions, the Kansas City Chiefs.
Despite head coach Mike McDaniel’s creation of a thrilling and potent offense, it fell short in the postseason.Wide receiver Tyreek Hill received much of the attention due to his on-field prowess, but McDaniel’s effective run game was instrumental in getting him open.
Raheem Mostert, the team’s lead back, had a breakout year, serving as the primary goal-line option and early down runner.Meanwhile, De’Von Achane, the team’s second-string running back, was the ideal complement to Mostert, showcasing his explosiveness every time he touched the ball and breaking off multiple big plays. As Achane prepares for his sophomore year, he issued a warning to the league via his personal Instagram account, stating, “They better be worried about who I’m becoming, not who I was.”

As Achane enters his second year, he is expected to play a more significant role in the Dolphins’ offense, having dealt with injuries during his rookie season that limited his opportunities.
Despite his smaller build and injury history, Achane can make a significant impact with limited touches. If Achane can fulfill his potential and improve on his rookie season, the Dolphins have the potential to be a formidable team. However, they must demonstrate that their offense can thrive in high-pressure playoff situations.
