Bengals meet with Trajan Jeffcoat

The Cincinnati Bengals have a strong group of defensive ends for the 2024 season, with high hopes for Myles Murphy’s progression and the potential impact of Joseph Ossai if he can maintain his health.

Despite their current depth, the Bengals are exploring options to bolster this crucial position, as evidenced by their recent meeting with Arkansas defensive end Trajan Jeffcoat, as reported by Aaron Wilson.Jeffcoat, who excelled at Missouri before transferring to Arkansas, has accumulated impressive stats including 15.5 sacks, 28 tackles for loss, and 100 tackles throughout his college career.

While he is an older prospect due to an extra year of eligibility related to COVID-19, Jeffcoat is still developing and may offer untapped potential.Given his status as a potential undrafted free agent, the Bengals could be eyeing Jeffcoat as a priority signing post-draft.

Although he may initially be a practice squad candidate, the Bengals’ defensive end situation, especially with impending free agents like Cam Sample and Joseph Ossai, could provide Jeffcoat with a solid opportunity to secure a roster spot in 2025.
