BREAKING: DT Armon Watts Makes honest admission why he left Steelers after brutal trade to Patriots

The Pittsburgh Steelers had hoped to retain experienced defensive tackle Armon Watts for another season in their team colors, but they couldn’t reach a deal. Consequently, Watts is now part of the New England Patriots.

Watts explained his decision to decline the Steelers’ offer by emphasizing that he sensed more enthusiasm from the Patriots in signing him than he did from Pittsburgh, causing a disconnect in negotiations.

Speaking with 98.5 The Sports Hub’s Alex Barth, Watts said, “Pittsburgh showed some interest, but I feel like ultimately New England was more eager to secure me. It’s a well-regarded organization.”

With Cam Heyward aging, the Steelers are in need of assistance on the interior of their defensive line. They have re-signed Montravius Adams and are counting on second-year player Keeanu Benton to continue his impressive rookie performance and evolve into a standout player for the team in the future.

In his one season with the Steelers, Watts recorded 15 tackles, three quarterback hits, and half a sack in 15 games.
