BREAKING: Titans HC Brian Callahan’s Sends Strong Message to Team Centers on Resiliency, Relentlessness

The new Titans head coach, Brian Callahan, conducted his inaugural team meeting this week with a clear directive – he aims for his team to embody relentlessness and resilience. Additionally, he emphasized the importance of creating a comfortable environment where players are encouraged to express themselves authentically.

The Titans officially kicked off their offseason program on Monday, which Callahan likened to an “orientation.”

Callahan explained, “We are establishing expectations, setting guidelines, and defining the team culture we envision. The primary message conveyed on the first day was the significance of being relentless and resilient when you observe our performance. This embodies my core beliefs. In addition, we outlined some basic expectations. I prefer setting expectations over strict rules; I prioritize individuality, punctuality, and safeguarding the team. This philosophy guides my approach. Therefore, the initial message they received emphasized our aspiration to become an unyielding and resilient football team.”

After being appointed as the head coach of the Titans in January, Brian Callahan, previously the offensive coordinator of the Bengals, wasted no time in assembling his coaching staff during the initial weeks in his new role. He has been actively involved in various aspects of team operations, including attending the NFL Combine, the NFL owners meetings, and pro days, while also collaborating with his freshly assembled staff to prepare for the commencement of the offseason program.

For the Titans, this program kicked off on Monday with Phase One.

Callahan expressed his contentment with the immediate engagement and enthusiasm exhibited by the players.

“There has been a fantastic level of enthusiasm among all the players in the facility,” Callahan remarked. “I have noticed a palpable excitement. In times of change, individuals can respond in one of two ways: with disappointment or with anticipation and readiness to embrace new challenges. I believe these individuals have adeptly embraced the new chapter and the anticipation of what lies ahead. I am genuinely appreciative of their positive approach. I am extremely pleased with the positive start we have had this week.”

The Titans have scheduled a veteran minicamp from April 22-24. Subsequently, the team’s rookie minicamp, following the NFL Draft, is set to take place from May 10-13. Voluntary OTAs are planned for May and June, along with a mandatory minicamp scheduled from June 4-6.

The offseason program is expected to conclude in mid-June, with training camp commencing in late July.

“We intend to coach with utmost dedication and intensity within the time constraints we have been allocated,” Callahan affirmed. “I am delighted with the level of attendance we have witnessed this week.”
