BREAKING NEWS: Bleacher Report recommends a trade to the Cardinals involving a talented 26-year-old star

The San Francisco 49ers’ wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk has been the subject of trade rumors after the team’s Super Bowl loss to the Kansas City Chiefs.
Aiyuk, who is seeking a contract extension to be one of the highest-paid players in the league, is entering the final year of his rookie contract and is due a base salary of $14.1 million.
There is mutual interest between Aiyuk and the Arizona Cardinals as a potential trade partner, according to Bleacher Report NFL analyst Gary Davenport. The 49ers could be headed for a contract standoff with Aiyuk, who wants a lucrative extension. Any team interested in trading for Aiyuk would have to offer a first-round pick and additional compensation. The 49ers are in win-now mode and moving Aiyuk for anything less wouldn’t make sense. The 2024 NFL Draft class is deep at wide receiver, which could complicate a potential trade. The 49ers were an overtime loss away from winning the Super Bowl, and trading Aiyuk wouldn’t improve their chances in 2024.
According to Bleacher Report NFL analyst Gary Davenport, Arizona general manager Monti Ossenfort is considering all options for the fourth-overall pick in the upcoming NFL Draft. There have been rumors that the New York Giants and Minnesota Vikings are interested in trading for this pick.
Davenport argues that the Cardinals need to add more depth to their receiving corps, even if they draft a receiver in the first round. He suggests that the Cardinals should consider trading for San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk, who is seeking a contract extension and could be a valuable addition to the team. However, any team interested in trading for Aiyuk would need to offer a first-round pick and additional compensation, and the 49ers would not be interested in trading him for anything less.
Davenport believes that the Cardinals need to improve their wide receiver group, regardless of whether they use the fourth overall pick to draft Marvin Harrison Jr. or trade it. He points out that the departure of Marquise Brown and Rondale Moore has left the Cardinals with the weakest wide receiver room in the NFL, and they need to add more than one receiver to address this issue.
Chris Moore, Zach Pascal, Michael Wilson, Greg Dortch, Dan Chisena, Jeff Smith, Andre Baccellia, Kaden Davis, and Daniel Arias are currently the only wide receivers on the Cardinals’ roster.
Davenport suggests that the Cardinals could trade for Brandon Aiyuk, despite the fact that both teams are in the same division, the NFC West. He acknowledges that this trade would be difficult, but believes that the Cardinals could still make it happen. In exchange for Aiyuk, the 49ers could receive a second first-round pick, which would give them more flexibility in the draft.
They could use one pick to select a wide receiver from a deep class, such as Adonai Mitchell of Texas, and use the other pick to address another position.
