In New York, NHL suspends Canadiens defenseman Kaiden Guhle for one game after slashing Philadelphia Flyers forward Travis Konecny.
e incident took place at 19:55 of the second period during Montreal’s 4-1 victory on Thursday.
Konecny was engaged with Canadiens forward Juraj Slafkovsky after making contact with him in front of the Flyers bench moments before.
As Konecny passed by the Montreal bench later on, Guhle struck him in the abdomen with his stick while seated on the bench.
No penalty was given to Guhle for this action during the game. Consequently, he will be absent for the Canadiens’ match against the Carolina Hurricanes on Saturday.
The 22-year-old has accumulated 21 points (six goals, 15 assists) in 68 games this season for Montreal.
