Florida Panthers Acquire Vladimir Tarasenko in a Major Blockbuster Trade

For the second season in a row, star right wing Vladimir Tarasenko has been traded just before the NHL trade deadline. This time, he has joined the top-ranked team in the league, the Florida Panthers.
Last season before the trade deadline, Tarasenko was traded from the St. Louis Blues to the New York Rangers, but things didn’t work out as expected. Consequently, he ended up signing with the Ottawa Senators in free agency. While the Senators were making progress, it was evident that Tarasenko was not a long-term fit for the team.

The Panthers traded two draft picks to Ottawa for the 32-year-old, including a third-round pick and a conditional fourth-round pick. In a favorable twist, the Senators will continue to cover 50% of Tarasenko’s salary, making this trade a clear win for the Panthers.
