Right-handed pitcher Woo-Suk Go, who joined the Detroit Tigers organization last summer and ended the year with Triple-A Toledo, has agreed to a new minor-league contract for the 2026 season.
The 27-year-old was a standout closer in the Korea Baseball Organization and was granted approval to pursue MLB opportunities after the 2023 campaign. He initially signed a two-year, $4.5 million contract with the San Diego Padres, but was dealt to the Miami Marlins four months later as part of the trade involving Luis Arraez.

Miami designated Go for assignment in 2024 before releasing him last June. He soon landed with the Tigers on a minor-league contract and appeared in 14 games for Toledo, recording 22 strikeouts and 11 walks over 21 innings.
While his transition to the U.S. has included challenges at multiple stops, early evaluations projected Go as a high-upside reliever, featuring a fastball that sits in the mid-90s and a quality slider.
