Sources: More staff changes coming for Nebraska

Pump the Brakes, It’s Going to Be Okay…Probably

Big changes are afoot for Nebraska football, and it seems like the coaching staff is getting a serious shake-up. If you’ve been following the Cornhuskers, you know that the team has been struggling on the offensive side of things, and head coach Matt Rhule is not one to sit back and watch the ship sink. Let’s break down what’s happening.

As a fan it is scary to see Tony White go. The defense under him has been a strength.

It’s also scary to hear that Jimari Butler and Mikai Gbayor are entering the transfer portal.

What This Means for Current Coaches

So, what does this mean for the current coaching staff? Well, Marcus Satterfield, who was the offensive coordinator before Holgorsen’s arrival, will stay on but has been reassigned to coach tight ends. There’s been a lot of speculation about whether Satterfield would remain with the team after his struggles in play-calling led to criticism from fans and analysts alike.  With Holgorsen taking over, it seems like Satterfield’s days as a coordinator are numbered.

More Changes on the at Nebraska

But wait, there’s more! Reports by Rivals Greg Smith suggest that additional staff changes could be coming soon. This includes possibly losing defensive coordinator Tony White, which would be another significant shift for the program. Rhule is clearly looking to reshape his coaching staff to align with his vision for Nebraska football moving forward.

Speaking of moves of Matt Rhule, it is nice to see that Dana Holgorsen is now signed on as offensive coordinator. I’m excited to see what he does to this offense and doubly excited that we’ll get another look at his work still this season.

BUT it will be okay. We need to settle down and not react right away. Let’s let things settle a bit and see what Matt Rhule’s next move is.

Now on another note, I hope you’re ready for some Husker volleyball this weekend! I cannot wait to watch them play. Have you seen the posts by Lindsay Krause and Harper Murray calling out people on social media? We need to do better.
