A former Cornhusker had social media buzzing on Sunday afternoon. Cincinnati Bengals cornerback Cam Taylor-Britt had an interception returned for a touchdown against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
The pick is the defensive back’s sixth career interception and second NFL touchdown. It’s also his second interception of the season, as earlier this year, he made an impressive one-handed grab to pick off Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes.
Taylor-Britt played at Nebraska from 2018-2021 and was second-team All-Big Ten in 2020 and 2021. During his Nebraska career, he played in 40 games, recorded 96 tackles, and had six interceptions. The Bengals drafted him in the second round (60th overall) of the 2022 NFL draft.
According to Jay Morison of Bengals Talk, prior to the score, the Bengals had gone 23 straight games without a defensive touchdown, the second-longest streak in franchise history. Cam Taylor-Britt scored the last defensive touchdown against the Arizona Cardinals last season.
