Curt Cignetti and Indiana football Confirms Unexpected, Heartbreaking News ahead of Fixture

The Hoosiers will be without starting cornerback Jamier Johnson against Purdue in the Old Oaken Bucket Game.

Indiana football will be missing starting cornerback Jamier Johnson in tonight’s game against Purdue, as noted in the team’s Week 14 availability report. The specifics of Johnson’s injury have not been revealed.

No other Indiana players are included on this week’s injury report. In contrast, Purdue has seven players ruled out and three listed as questionable.

Johnson, a redshirt junior, has played in all 11 games this season. The Texas transfer has recorded a career-high 34 total tackles and one interception during the year.

Johnson’s absence in the regular season finale means the likes of Jamari Sharpe, JoJo Johnson and Cedarius Doss could all see increased roles. Sharpe has played the most of that trio this season in a top backup role.

Indiana and Purdue kickoff in the 99th Old Oaken Bucket Game at 7 p.m. ET in Bloomington. The game will be broadcast on FS1.
