Grady Sizemore Has Honest Admission About Time As Interim Manager

The Chicago White Sox placed last in the AL Central last season. With a total of 121 losses, they set a new record for the most defeats in a single season in the modern era of Major League Baseball.

In August, the White Sox dismissed manager Pedro Grifol, appointing Grady Sizemore as the interim manager for the rest of the season. Sizemore has recently shared his candid reflections on his experience as interim manager.

“Overall, it was a fun experience. I learned that I like working with players, I like making an impact,” Sizemore said, via MLB Network Radio on SiriusXM.

While it wasn’t an ideal situation for Sizemore, who played for 10 seasons, with his last in 2015, he seemed to make the most of his time as the White Sox manager.

He acknowledged that it was a tough season for the team but feels they finished on a more positive note.

Sizemore won’t be managing the White Sox in 2025, as they hired Will Venable in late October.

The White Sox have failed to reach the postseason for three consecutive seasons after making the playoffs in 2020 and 2021.

If Chicago hopes to compete in the AL Central, they’ll need to improve, especially since the division had three playoff teams in 2024.

After a dismal season in 2024, it will be challenging for the White Sox to perform any worse in 2025.
