BREAKING NOW: Huskers lands monster commitment from the fast defensive back; he chose Nebraska over prominent schools including Baylor, Florida State, Minnesota, and Syracuse, among others

The Nebraska Cornhuskers have secured their third commitment for the 2026 recruiting class, as a promising defensive back announced his decision on Instagram on Tuesday. The 6-foot-1, 166-pound athlete out of Windermere High School, who currently holds six other offers from schools including Baylor, Florida State, Minnesota, and Syracuse, has drawn attention for his speed and skills on the field.

Windermere Wolverines coach Riki Smith praised his junior defender, stating, “I was really impressed with how [he] was able to mentally lock in every game he participated in this year. He had a natural laser focus on his responsibilities.” During his junior season, he recorded six interceptions, three of which he returned for touchdowns, despite competing in only seven games.

After visiting Nebraska for their game against UCLA in early November, the player decided to shut down his recruitment, even after receiving an offer from the Wisconsin Badgers. This latest commitment adds to Nebraska’s 2026 class, which already includes quarterback Dayton Raiola and athlete Dveyoun Bonwell-Witte. The committed player’s name is CJ Bronaugh.
