Breaking :The Vancouver Canucks announced indefinite personal leave of absence of talented player

The Vancouver Canucks announced on Tuesday that star forward J.T. Miller, who was benched by Rick Tocchet during the final moments of Sunday’s 5-3 loss to the Nashville Predators, has requested and been granted an indefinite personal leave of absence. Miller, 31, had been on a three-game point streak prior to the Nashville game, recording one goal and four assists during that span.

Overall, he has maintained his high level of performance this season, with six goals, ten assists, and a total of 16 points in 17 games. However, his current scoring pace suggests he could finish the season with 77 points over 82 games, which would be his lowest output in the last four seasons with the Canucks. It’s important to note that Miller’s slow start isn’t solely his fault. The Canucks, as a team, have struggled despite a decent overall record. Their issues have become more apparent as interim starting goalie Kevin Lankinen’s performance has declined, leading to disappointing results on the ice.

Canucks insider Rick Dhaliwal reported on Tuesday that J.T. Miller is not anticipated to be away from the team for an extended period. “It sounds like JT Miller is stepping away to take some time for a reset,” Dhaliwal posted on X. “He needs some time and space.”
