The Toronto Raptors are dealing with increasing injuries to their roster.
Bruno Fernando has become the latest addition to the Raptors’ injury list, suffering an ankle injury that will keep him out of Monday night’s game against the Indiana Pacers. He rolled his right ankle during Saturday’s game against the Boston Celtics and will be missing for some time.
This injury further weakens Toronto’s already limited frontcourt, which is still without Kelly Olynyk, who has yet to play this season due to a persistent back issue. Jakob Poeltl will be the only experienced traditional center available for Monday’s matchup. While Fernando is sidelined, Chris Boucher and Jonathan Mogbo are expected to step in as backup centers, despite being undersized. Toronto’s other backup center, Ulrich Chomche, will likely remain with the Raptors 905 as he focuses on developing his skills.
Additionally, the Raptors will also be without Scottie Barnes, Immanuel Quickley, Bruce Brown, and Ja’Kobe Walter, and it remains uncertain when any of them will return. The Pacers, on the second night of a back-to-back, have declared Andrew Nembhard, Isaiah Jackson, Aaron Nesmith, and James Wiseman out for their game against the Miami Heat on Sunday.
