The Beavers just snagged former Oregon DB

The Beavers have made their first junior college addition for the class of 2025. Just before their game against San Jose State, they welcomed a new player who announced his commitment to Oregon State.

He was a highly regarded 4-star recruit in 2022 from San Diego (CA) Lincoln and chose Oregon over offers from top programs like Florida State, Miami, Michigan, and USC. After spending one season with the Ducks, where he played in just one game and recorded a tackle, he transferred to San Diego State but never reached campus. Instead, he went to San Diego Mesa Community College.

At the JUCO level, he primarily played receiver, amassing 25 catches for 440 yards and 8 touchdowns. On defense, which is how he is being recruited, he tallied 4 tackles, 4 pass breakups, and 1 interception.

Coaches Rod Chance and AJ Cooper have been involved in his recruitment, with Chance having previously recruited him to Oregon. Tucker expressed, “It’s great, we’ve had a great relationship before JUCO. He recruited me there (Oregon).”

He believes he will fit right into the Oregon State defense, stating, “Fitting just right in honestly… I just need an opportunity to show what I can do. I’m going to have to put the work in though regardless.”

He’ll have two years to play two seasons as a Beaver. The newly committed player is Jalil Tucker.
