Breaking: Head Coach Drew Bannister provided updates on the team’s injured players and more

While the St. Louis Blues had a relatively injury-free season in 2023-24, it appears they are dealing with several injuries early this year. Head Coach Drew Bannister provided updates on the team’s injured players after practice in Philadelphia on Wednesday afternoon.

Forward Kasperi Kapanen, who left Tuesday’s game against Ottawa early, is dealing with an upper-body injury and is considered day-to-day. He is currently being evaluated but will continue traveling with the Blues. Mathieu Joseph sustained a lower-body injury during Saturday’s game in Montreal and has returned to St. Louis for evaluation. Bannister mentioned that the results from his MRI were positive, and he is also day-to-day. Defenseman Nick Leddy began the road trip with the Blues but has since returned to St. Louis to see team doctors and receive treatment.

He was placed on injured reserve due to a lower-body injury on October 22 and hasn’t played since October 15 against Minnesota. Bannister could not confirm if Leddy or Joseph would be available for the Blues on Saturday, noting that more information would be available once they return to St. Louis. The Blues are set to play their final road game on Thursday before starting a five-game homestand this weekend.
