“Highly Conflicting” Patrick Mahomes Shows Up on Chiefs’ Injury List for First Time in 2024 Season

Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes appeared on the team’s injury report for the first time this season on Thursday. The report lists him as a full participant, though it indicates he’s managing an ankle injury—news that was previously unknown until the Week 9 report was released Thursday afternoon.

It’s unclear how Mahomes sustained the injury or its severity, but he’s expected to play against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Monday Night Football, as he completed full practice. If the injury was a significant concern, the team would likely have held him out of practice.

Mahomes has previously shown resilience with ankle injuries, notably playing through an ankle sprain in the 2022 playoffs and leading the Chiefs to a Super Bowl victory despite briefly missing drives in two games.

The Chiefs head into Monday night’s game as the NFL’s last remaining undefeated team this season.
