Five-Star UNC Basketball Recruit Plans to Reopen Recruitment, as Reported by ESPN’s Andrea Adelson

Just weeks ago, a highly regarded forward from Prolific Prep in California listed UNC, Michigan State, Ohio State, and reigning national champions UConn as his four final choices.

Over the weekend, however, HS Top Recruits revealed that this 6-foot-11, 215-pound prospect, ranked No. 26 overall and No. 7 among power forwards in the 247Sports 2025 Composite, would now reopen his recruitment entirely. According to sources, he’s no longer considering UConn, Ohio State, or Michigan State, while UNC remains a “maybe” with a likelihood of “probably not.”

This coveted stretch-four had earlier released a top nine list, which included Kentucky, Kansas, Pitt, Xavier, and Texas alongside his current finalists. A longtime fan of the Tar Heels, he was extended an offer by UNC head coach Hubert Davis and visited the program officially in early October. While initially planning to make a decision before the early signing period in November, the recent update suggests he may delay that timeline.

This player, Niko Bundalo, seemed set to commit soon but is now reconsidering his options. UNC, meanwhile, has a commitment from four-star guard Derek Dixon in the 2025 class.
