Rangers play it safe with Artemi Panarin after injury scare

Back in his home country of Russia, the Rangers forward took part in an NHL vs. KHL all-star match featuring icons such as Sergei Bobrovsky, Alex Ovechkin, Evgeni Malkin, and numerous other legendary Russian players.

Panarin, along with Utah defenseman Mikhail Sergachev, helped organize the event, which showcased some of the NHL’s finest competing against KHL stars, with the funds going to charity. The event successfully raised approximately $144,000.

During the middle of the competition, Panarin aimed to entertain the audience. In a breakaway chance, he almost netted a truly spectacular goal. Take a look at it here:

It seems that the Breadman is possibly experimenting with new techniques for the upcoming season with the Rangers. The Michigan-style move illustrates how enjoyable and inventive Panarin can be when given the time and space, which was lacking during the Blueshirts’ six-game loss to the eventual Stanley Cup champions, the Florida Panthers, in the Eastern Conference Final last spring.

In what concluded as an 8-8 draw, Panarin could have scored an unforgettable goal to give the NHL all-stars a lead. It was just one of the many remarkable moments on the ice, all in support of charity.
