The Edmonton Elks have signed National kicker to the practice roster, as announced by the club on Saturday.
Blanchard was initially drafted by the Elks in the fourth round (31st overall) of the 2024 CFL Draft. He participated in training camp with the Elks but was one of the team’s final roster cuts on June 1.
The Laval native earned a second-team All-Canadian title in 2023, successfully converting 94 percent of his field goals, and was part of the Rouge et Or’s Vanier Cup championship in 2022. He also attended a rookie minicamp with the New England Patriots before joining the Elks.
The Elks are set to return to action on Friday, October 25, wrapping up their season against the Toronto Argonauts at Commonwealth Stadium.
