Two former UNC football commits have elected to take their talent elsewhere.
Well, that’s not great…
In just 24 hours, the UNC football program has experienced the loss of two commitments from the Class of 2025.
The first was on Monday night, when three-star tight end Logan Farrell switched his commitment to Illinois. Farrell, ranked No. 36 among tight ends in the Class of 2025, made this choice after visiting Illinois last weekend. He had been committed to North Carolina for nearly a year, initially announcing his pledge to the Tar Heels in November 2023.

The second came on Tuesday afternoon as fellow three-star tight end Marshall Pritchett announced that he will be flipping his commitment to Alabama.

This development shouldn’t come as a surprise, as there have been rumblings about it for weeks. Pritchett has been rumored to have a strong interest in the Crimson Tide, with talks intensifying throughout October. Before changing his commitment, Pritchett had been pledged to the UNC football program since March 23.
While neither recruit is a five-star prospect, it’s always concerning to see your program lose players who were already committed. Now, the UNC football program has fallen to just 12 commitments in the Class of 2025, raising questions about what’s happening in Chapel Hill regarding recruiting.
Could the team’s recent performance and the uncertainty surrounding Mack Brown’s future as head coach be factors in this situation?
