Recent NC State Basketball Recruiting Visitor Reports UNC Interest

NC State basketball finds itself in a rivalry for one of the top in-state talents on the 2026 recruiting trail.

While neither the NC State nor UNC basketball programs have officially begun pursuing Josiah Sanders, a lefty forward from Berean Baptist Academy (N.C.), he is considered the No. 1 prospect among 2026 North Carolina preps by On3. Both schools have extended six offers to the current group of high school juniors.

However, eighth-year head coach Kevin Keatts and his team hosted the 6-foot-8, 200-pound Sanders earlier this month. This week, the four-star prospect shared with On3’s Jamie Shaw that he has received significant interest from both Keatts & Co. and Hubert Davis’ Tar Heels.

“We’re hearing from NC State,” Sanders, a versatile wing sitting at No. 103 overall on the 247Sports 2026 Composite, said. “I went on an unofficial visit there. They haven’t offered yet, though. We’re hearing from Utah and UNC, too, a few others as well, but those are the ones we hear from the most right now.”
