St. Louis Blues defenseman Nick Leddy is currently listed as day-to-day due to a lower-body injury that arose on Tuesday, according to Lou Korac of NHL.com. The 33-year-old did not participate in practice on Wednesday and is considered questionable for the team’s game on Thursday night against the New York Islanders. It is believed that the injury may have occurred when Leddy blocked a shot during a game against the Minnesota Wild, although this has not been confirmed.
Leddy has struggled at the start of the season, as he and his defensive partner, Colton Parayko, have faced difficulties during the first four games. He has been on the ice for a total of eight goals against the Blues, resulting in a -3 plus/minus rating, and he has not recorded any points.
In other Blues updates, forward Oskar Sundqvist has been cleared for contact as he works his way back from an ACL tear he suffered in March, as reported by Chris Pinkert of NHL.com. Sundqvist underwent surgery shortly after his injury and was expected to need six months for recovery.
He rejoined the Blues in the summer of 2023, signing a one-year contract with the team that had traded him 17 months earlier. Following a successful return, Sundqvist earned a two-year extension worth $ 3 million, but unfortunately, he suffered the ACL tear just three weeks later.
