Blake Hebert, a four-star quarterback from the Class of 2025, has changed his commitment from Clemson to Notre Dame. He announced his decommitment from the Tigers on Monday evening through social media. “I want to begin by thanking the Clemson coaching staff and the program for everything they’ve done for me,” Hebert stated in a message he shared on X (formerly Twitter). “That said, I have decided to withdraw my commitment and will be spending the next four years at another institution. Romans 8:18.”
Hebert, a student at Brunswick School in Greenwich, Connecticut, initially committed to Clemson in June 2023. Recently, Notre Dame lost its longtime commitment from 2025 quarterback Deuce Knight. Knight had originally pledged to the Fighting Irish in September 2023 but switched his commitment to Auburn on October 2. With Knight’s departure to Auburn, Notre Dame needed to secure a replacement quarterback before the early signing period for the 2025 class on December 4. They have now found their new quarterback in Hebert. Additionally, two of Hebert’s high school teammates, four-star offensive tackle Matty Augustine and four-star safety Ethan Long, are currently committed to Notre Dame.
Hebert is ranked as the No. 3 prospect in Connecticut and the No. 17 pro-style quarterback for the 2025 recruiting class. He also received offers from several schools, including Boston College, Connecticut, Illinois, Iowa, Minnesota, Mississippi, Nebraska, North Carolina, Penn State, Pittsburgh, Purdue, Rutgers, Virginia, Virginia Tech, and others. With Hebert’s commitment, Notre Dame’s 2025 class now has a total of 23 commitments, placing it 13th nationally. On the other hand, Clemson’s 2025 class has dropped to 13 commitments, ranking 31st nationally.
