Instead, Keefe has taken up a new role as the head coach of the New Jersey Devils, signing a four-year deal with the team ³. During his introductory press conference, Keefe spoke about the intense pressure and scrutiny that comes with coaching in Toronto, hinting that the constant spotlight can be overwhelming ³.
It seems that Keefe’s departure from the Maple Leafs was a mutual decision, with the team looking to shake things up after another disappointing playoff run.
