BREAKKING NOW : 4- Star, Davis Flips To Duke But What Captured My Heart Most Is His Emotional Expressions And Love For The Blue Devils

Greensboro (N.C.) Grimsley EDGE Bryce Davis initially committed to Clemson earlier this summer. Although Duke made a late effort in July, the four-star recruit initially remained with the Tigers. However, the Blue Devils continued their pursuit, which ultimately paid off. Davis has now decided to switch his commitment to Duke. “It was a very difficult choice,” Davis told On3. “It required a lot of mental strength to arrive at this decision. After further discussions with the coaches at Duke and consulting with my parents, along with plenty of prayer, I concluded that Duke was the right place for me.” Clemson had garnered attention throughout the summer, and Georgia was also in the conversation at one point. So what did Duke do to change the mind of the No. 73 prospect in the On3 Industry Rankings?

“Duke has always been a consideration for me. When I strip away all the branding and visual elements, I realize that I would be happiest at Duke. They provide everything I need, and it ultimately came down to overcoming my own perceptions about attending Duke and embracing the experience as my own. “It was crucial for me to feel like a top priority for them. Ever since Coach Manny Diaz arrived, they’ve made me feel valued. They’ve treated me and my family wonderfully, and I’m excited about the opportunities they provide. Duke has everything I’m looking for.”

Davis views Duke as a fantastic opportunity, describing it as “the best of both worlds.” He appreciates the culture, academics, and the overall development they provide, both on and off the field. He’s particularly excited about the coaching staff. “Coach Diaz is an excellent person. He values faith, and prayer played a significant role in my decision. He and Coach Harland Bower have been consistently supportive; they are both outstanding individuals, and I have faith in their vision for the program.”

“Coach Diaz has an impressive background. As a head coach focused on defense, he has successfully developed many players, and I believe he’s the top defensive strategist in football. I expect to see Duke excel under his leadership. He has the right mindset, understands what’s needed, and builds strong relationships with his players. They will give their all for him.”
