UAB Announces new QB Jacob Zeno sustained an injury to his non-throwing shoulder during UAB’s recent loss to Navy

A new Quarterback  is anticipated to make his first start for UAB on Saturday during the Blazers’ home match against Tulane.

UAB quarterback Jacob Zeno sustained an injury to his non-throwing shoulder during UAB’s recent loss to Navy, as reported by UAB coach Trent Dilfer. Dilfer mentioned that Zeno underwent an MRI on Tuesday and has experienced difficulty lifting his arm.

Officially, Dilfer stated that Kitna’s debut is still undecided, but the second-year coach, who is a former NFL quarterback, suggested that if Zeno doesn’t improve by Thursday, he will likely be ruled out for the Saturday game.

“In NFL terms, he’d probably be listed as questionable, and I’d have to give it a questionable/doubtful status by Thursday,” Dilfer noted.

Dilfer emphasized that there remains a possibility for Zeno, a redshirt senior, to play against Tulane.
