Five-Star UNC Basketball Target Makes Top Five in Updated Rankings
UNC basketball recruiters visited Virginia earlier this month to evaluate rising forward Nate Ament.
In the latest 2025 Rivals150 update, Ament, a forward from Highland School (Va.) and a key UNC recruiting prospect, surged six spots to No. 4 overall in the class, establishing himself as a consensus top-four prospect among major recruiting sites.
Ament’s rise reflects the impressive skills he showcased during grassroots competitions in the spring and summer.
When the 6-foot-9, 185-pound five-star received an offer from the Tar Heels in late May, he was ranked No. 18 overall on the 247Sports 2025 Composite, up from a debut rank of No. 28 in June 2023.
While Ament has not yet set dates for an official visit to UNC basketball, he has mentioned multiple times his intention to visit Chapel Hill in person before concluding his recruitment. Additionally, it’s notable that fourth-year Tar Heel head coach Hubert Davis, along with his assistants, visited Ament at his school two weeks ago, clearly indicating that he is a top priority for the coaching staff.
Regarding the timeline for the Nate Ament recruitment process, he is expected to make his college decision in the winter or spring and has not named any finalists yet.
