Four-star DB set to announce commitment between Michigan and others

Michigan has secured commitments from two solid defensive backs for the 2025 recruiting cycle: Kainoa Winston and Ivan Taylor, both of whom are regarded as top-tier prospects. However, the Wolverines are eager to add another standout defensive back to their roster.

Four-star safety Jordan Young is set to announce his commitment on November 2. The prospect from Monroe, NC, will choose among Michigan, NC State, Clemson, and Florida State. As per the 247Sports Composite rankings, Young is currently the 101st overall recruit and the 10th-ranked safety in his class.

While Michigan is among his preferred schools, it is not considered the frontrunner. Predictions from Crystal Ball suggest that both Clemson and NC State have a strong chance of landing Young, with On3 giving NC State a 93.2% likelihood of securing his commitment, whereas Michigan’s chances are estimated at less than 1%.

Jordan Young’s Recruitment.

Jordan Young, a highly sought-after 4-star safety in the 2025 recruiting class, is set to announce his commitment on November 2. The Monroe, NC prospect will choose between Michigan, NC State, Clemson, and Florida State.

While Michigan is among Young’s finalists, the Wolverines face an uphill battle in securing his commitment. Young has visited Clemson four times and NC State three times, compared to only two visits to Michigan. The Wolverines would need to make a strong impression on Young in the next month and a half to overcome the advantage held by the Tigers and Wolfpack.

Current Outlook.

NC State is currently viewed as the frontrunner to land Young, with On3 giving the Wolfpack a 93.2% chance of securing his commitment. Clemson is also considered a strong contender, with Crystal Ball predictions favoring the Tigers to land the talented safety.

Michigan, on the other hand, has less than a 1% chance of landing Young according to On3. The Wolverines would need to make a significant push in the coming weeks to change the narrative and convince Young that Ann Arbor is the best destination for his college career.
