So far, Howard has completed 35 passes for 520 yards over two games, with a total of five touchdowns—four passing and one rushing. In contrast, former Ohio State quarterback Kyle McCord is leading the nation in touchdown passes, averaging four per game. With 59 completions and 735 yards along with eight passing touchdowns, McCord is impressing everyone while leading the Syracuse Orange offense. Additionally, he boasts an impressive 11-1 record as a starter, raising questions about why Ohio State head coach Ryan Day wouldn’t want to retain him in Columbus.
In Week 4, McCord had a standout moment with a 67-yard touchdown pass in a Friday-night game against new ACC opponent Stanford. Meanwhile, Howard and the Buckeyes are set to kick off against the Thundering Herd at noon ET on FOX this Saturday.
