Massive Relief: Arkansas Wide Receiver Suspended for Week 3 Matchup Against the UAB Blazers

Arkansas Razorbacks head coach Sam Pittman announced during his Monday press conference that wide receiver Dazmin James will be suspended for their Week 3 matchup against the UAB Blazers. The suspension is due to a “violation of team rules,” but Pittman confirmed that James would return for Week 4.

James, a redshirt freshman for the Hogs, has not played any offensive snaps this season but participated in special teams during the season opener against Arkansas-Pine Bluff. His absence is unlikely to impact Arkansas’ game plan against UAB, other than a slight reduction in receiver depth.

James joined Arkansas in 2023 as a three-star prospect from Clayton (NC) High School, where he recorded 43 passes for 601 yards and five touchdowns as a senior. With his collegiate career still in the early stages, there may be opportunities for him to integrate into the Razorbacks’ offense in the future.

James will be eligible to return for Arkansas’ conference opener against the Auburn Tigers on Sept. 21 at Jordan-Hare Stadium. Meanwhile, he will serve the consequences of his rules violation as the Razorbacks face UAB on Sept. 14 at 4:15 p.m. ET from Donald W. Reynolds Razorback Stadium.
