Auburn football head coach Hugh Freeze and his team maintain a consistent approach in their recruitment efforts. Since Freeze’s arrival on the Plains, Auburn’s recruiting has significantly improved, reaching levels not seen in years. Some areas, such as offensive linemen, had even experienced a decline prior to Freeze’s transition.
Facing this challenge, Freeze has successfully enhanced the Tigers’ recruiting over recent classes, adapting to modern issues like the transfer portal and NIL. In 2024, Auburn secured a top 10 recruiting class, featuring one of the strongest groups of wide receivers in the program’s history. The focus now shifts to the 2025 class, which has the potential to be among the highest-ranked in Auburn’s history.
Freeze praised his recruiting staff for their ability to forge strong connections with prospects, emphasizing that Auburn’s unique culture speaks for itself. “I think we’ve been consistent with our message,” Freeze stated. “Our message is pretty simple: come and see. We believe Auburn offers a different culture and environment than many others.”
Currently, the 2025 recruiting class consists of 22 commitments and is ranked #% overall. Many of these commitments came in recently during or after Big Cat Weekend, and the momentum is building. With early signing day still a few months away, there is ample opportunity for more recruits to join Auburn.
“I’m pleased with where we are right now, being in the top 10 nationally,” Freeze remarked. “If we can add a few more targeted pieces, we can build on the solid ’24 class. I’m comfortable with our current position.”
