The Florida Gators always had an advantage in recruiting four-star small forward CJ Ingram, but his commitment is still a significant achievement for head coach Todd Golden and his team.
Ingram, from Orlando, Florida (Oak Ridge High School), is the son of Cornelius Ingram, a second-team All-SEC tight end for Florida in 2007 and a member of the Gators’ BCS national championship squads in 2007 and 2009.
While the Gators had an edge in this recruitment, it’s still impressive that they secured Ingram despite competition from programs like Kansas, Michigan, and Georgia.
“It always felt like home,” Ingram On3’s Joe Tipton regarding his commitment to Florida. “The atmosphere is just different with the fans. My visit just felt almost perfect and I’m doing [it] at home in front of friends and family. Coach Todd, Coach Taurean Green, Coach Hartmann and Coach Talley, they tell me every day what I can be in the future, how I can develop, and how I fit in the system.”
Ingram describes himself as a “two-way slasher” capable of playing the point, shooting guard, or small forward in college. According to 247Sports, he is ranked as the No. 11 small forward in the 2025 recruiting class.
He is also the second commitment for Florida’s class, joining four-star combo guard Alex Lloyd, contributing to a Gators’ class that is currently ranked in the top 10 nationally
