For the past three years, Dabo Swinney hasn’t had to worry much about winning without Will Shipley.
Shipley entered the professional ranks this year. He has left an indelible mark on Clemson football, but his playing time is now available for a new leader.
Senior running back Phil Mafah looks to take the lead after a standout season last fall.
“He aspires to be the main player,” stated Swinney.
The 6-1, 229-pound powerful runner will receive support this year. Running backs coach CJ Spiller mentioned that the group has been competing throughout the entire off-season.
One emerging talent, Jarvis Green, is committed to making a difference. Spiller highlighted that the former Dutch Fork player has shown significant improvement going into his second year.
"Jarvis took a tremendous step this Spring."
