Mario Cristobal Takes Yet Another Brutal Loss To Georgia Tech As Top D-Line Recruit Trolls Miami

Mario Cristobal and Miami football suffered another tough blow when Derry Norris chose to join Georgia Tech instead of the Hurricanes. The way he announced his decision only made matters worse.

It was like Cristobal metaphorically fumbled the ball by trying to run instead of taking a safe option. Ironically, this actually happened in a previous game where Miami was in a winning position.

Miami was leading by three points against Georgia Tech with 42 seconds left in the fourth quarter. Instead of securing the win by running out the clock, a decision was made to run the ball. Unfortunately, this resulted in a turnover that allowed Georgia Tech to score and win the game.

The choice made with Norris mirrored this embarrassing decision. Even though he’s considered a three-star prospect, defensive linemen of his caliber are highly sought after, especially given their size and position in current recruiting trends.

Derry Norris’s worth goes beyond his rating, as evidenced by the 37 scholarship offers he received from schools such as Alabama, LSU, Texas, Ohio State, Florida, Texas A&M, Virginia Tech, and West Virginia.

Despite the wide array of options, Norris eventually narrowed down his choices to Miami, Georgia Tech, and Minnesota. The prevailing belief was that he would choose Miami, especially since he seemed to indicate so by wearing a Miami hat and making the ‘U’ hand signal.

Surprisingly, Norris ended up committing to Georgia Tech, pulling a sudden reversal after initially signaling his intention to stay with Miami.

The comical stunt didn’t sit well with the people in South Florida. They referenced Norris’s three-star rating and insisted that Mario Cristobal wasn’t interested in Norris anyway.

However, those individuals are mistaken. Miami once again suffered a defeat in the fourth quarter, this time to Georgia.
