GCU Star Joins Coach Adamovic at University of Houston
On Tuesday, University of Houston Tennis Head Coach Katarina Adamovic announced the addition of sophomore transfer Valeriia Krokhotina (pronounced VAL-er-ee-ah CROW-ho-teen-ah) from Grand Canyon. Krokhotina, who displayed an impressive performance at Grand Canyon, has been recruited to join the Houston team.
“I am thrilled to welcome Valeriia to our team,” said Adamovic. “She embodies the qualities we look for in a student-athlete. As a sophomore, her potential is tremendous, and I am eager to continue working with her.”
In 2024, Krokhotina achieved an undefeated record in singles on courts three and four, and she recorded an 11-1 record on her primary court five. Hailing from St. Petersburg, Russia, she concluded the season with an outstanding 16-2 singles record and a 10-8 record in doubles.
“Houston presents a fantastic opportunity for me to pursue both my major and my sport at a professional level,” said Krokhotina. “The elevated standards in these two aspects will help me advance towards my future ambitions and expose me to a larger arena.”
