East Carolina University’s successful recruiting streak continued with the addition of three-star running back on Monday. The Florida native concluded his official visit to ECU after spending the previous days exploring the campus.
Hailing from Fort Walton Beach, Florida, Love Jr. stands at 5 feet 8 inches and weighs 175 pounds. He held offers from various schools such as App State, Arkansas State, Buffalo, Colorado, FAU, Georgia Southern, Liberty, Louisiana, Marshall, Pittsburgh, Southern Miss, Toledo, Troy, Tulane, USF, and West Virginia.
Love Jr. marks the third public commitment for ECU following recent commitments from Johnny Williams, a three-star receiver from Havelock, and Durante Speer, a three-star safety from Columbia High School in Georgia. The Pirates had already secured commitments from three-star wide receiver Connor Hodge and three-star offensive lineman Jonathan Stokes.
ECU is anticipated to bolster its recruiting class further in the upcoming days with additional signings.

Love had a standout junior season at Fort Walton Beach, amassing 1,352 rushing yards on 152 carries with an impressive average of 8.9 yards per carry. He found the end zone 14 times on the ground and also contributed with 18 receptions for 193 yards and a touchdown. he showcased his versatility with a kick return touchdown on special teams. Love is a multi-sport athlete, excelling in track and field for Fort Walton with notable achievements in various events.
According to the 247Sports Composite rating, Love holds a three-star rating and an overall score of .8726. He is positioned as the 691st best player nationally, the 57th best running back, and the 92nd best player in Florida.
Love received an official offer from ECU on March 27, 2024, and was pursued by running backs coach Rodney Freeman II and offensive coordinator John David Baker.
Among the five commitments already secured for ECU’s 2025 class, Love marks the first recruit from Florida. The class includes representatives from Kentucky and Georgia as well as two recruits from North Carolina. Currently, the recruiting class holds the 74th rank nationally and is placed second in The American Athletic Conference, following USF.
