Minnesota is gearing up for its highly anticipated Summer Splash June recruiting weekend, and the team has just secured a commitment from Zac Stascausky. This weekend marks a significant event in the Gophers’ football recruiting calendar, known as PJ Fleck’s “Summer Splash” official visit weekends.
Before this weekend, the team had received commitments from eleven players, including standout recruits like Jackson Kollock from California, Grant Washington from Ohio, Cameron Begalle from Andover, Cross Nimmo from Ohio, Torin Pettaway and Rhett Hlavacka from Wisconsin, Emmanuel Karmo from Cooper, Colin Hansen from Byron, Enoch Atewogbola from Indiana, Ethan Stendel from Caledonia, and Zachry Harden from Georgia.
In a bid to bolster their recruiting efforts this June, the Gophers have now landed a verbal commitment from Zac Stascausky, an offensive lineman from Portland (Ore.) Central Catholic. Stascausky, ranked as the fifth best player in Oregon, had received offers from various colleges such as UCLA, Arizona, Arizona State, California, Boise State, Oregon State, and Washington State.
Looking ahead, with the impending graduation of players like Tyler Cooper and Quinn Carroll, and the likelihood of left tackle Aireontae Ersery moving to the NFL after the season, it is expected that Brian Callahan will be looking to recruit multiple linemen for the upcoming class.
Stascausky has caught the eye of Callahan due to his impressive performance on the field, showcasing agility and strength as a left tackle while demonstrating a fierce presence in the run game.
