Jamari Phillips, a highly-rated shooting guard rated four stars in the 2024 class, has informed On3 that he has decided to commit to Oregon.
Standing at 6 feet 4 inches tall, the senior from Dream City Christian (AZ) had previously pledged his commitment to Arizona back in December 2022. He even signed his National Letter of Intent with the Wildcats in November, but made the decision to decommit just 10 days ago.
Based on the On3 Industry Ranking, Phillips is ranked as the 52nd best player overall in the 2024 recruitment cycle. This ranking is derived from a weighted average that incorporates assessments from all four major recruiting media outlets.
Phillips elaborated on his decision to commit to Oregon in a conversation with On3
Explaining his choice, Phillips expressed, “Oregon feels like a place where I belong. I see great potential for my personal growth and success with the level of support and resources available for improving my skills and physical condition there. The coaching staff’s commitment to player development and accountability played a significant role in earning my trust. Their emphasis on hard work and dedication resonated with me given my strong work ethic.”
When asked to describe his playing style and what Oregon can expect from him, Phillips shared, “I consider myself a scorer and a playmaker. I thrive on playing with speed and pushing the pace of the game.”
Phillips had a message for the passionate Duck fans, stating, “Excited to bring some energy to Eugene and make an impact!”
