The Dallas Cowboys are set to kick off their rookie minicamp this weekend, having already finalized contracts with all of their newly drafted players except for Marshawn Kneeland, their second-round pick.

The Cowboys have signed draft picks Tyler Guyton, Cooper Beebe, Marist Liufau, Caelen Carson, Ryan Flournoy, Nathan Thomas and Justin Rogers. Only second rounder Marshawn Kneeland left to sign.

ESPN analyst Mel Kiper Jr. has graded the Dallas Cowboys’ 2023 NFL Draft performance with a B-. While Kiper praised the team’s early selections, he expressed reservations about their choice of Marist Liufau, a linebacker they drafted in the third round.
Kiper’s main criticism stems from the Cowboys’ pressing need at running back and the availability of promising rookie running backs in the draft. The analyst believes the team should have addressed this position of weakness instead of selecting Liufau.
As for Marshawn Kneeland, the Cowboys’ second-round pick who has yet to sign, no specific reasons have been reported. However, with rookie minicamp set to begin this weekend and the date being May 10th, it is expected that the Cowboys will finalize a deal with Kneeland soon. The team’s depth at the position could benefit from having Kneeland under contract for the 2024 season.
