JUST IN: Former Barnsley, Rotherham United and Bradford City man lands managerial role

Nicky Law, the ex-manager of Bradford City, has made a comeback to the managerial role by assuming control of Matlock Town.

Matlock Town had an empty managerial position since March when Martin Carruthers, a former Hull City forward, resigned. A temporary team managed the team until the end of the season, but now Nicky Law has been appointed to lead the team.

Law, who was previously working as a recruitment chief at Burnley, brings a wealth of managerial experience. He successfully managed Alfreton Town for ten years and also led Bradford City in the EFL.

## Exciting New Chapter for Matlock Town FC

As the new manager of Matlock Town FC, I am thrilled to be taking the reins of this well-established club. From the moment I stepped into the community, I was struck by the refreshing atmosphere and the close-knit connection between the club and its passionate fans. This is something that truly impressed me and made me eager to take on this new challenge.

My first order of business will be to sit down with the players already on the team and assess our current strengths and areas for improvement. We need to build on last year’s performance and strive to compete at a higher level in the upcoming season.

Looking ahead, my vision for Matlock Town is to develop a younger, more sustainable squad that can challenge for honors in the medium to long-term. While styles of play are often discussed, I firmly believe that the primary objective must be to win games of football. The more we win, the better off we will be.

To achieve this, I will be demanding 100% effort and commitment from the players. Honesty and work ethic are non-negotiable in my book. After all, the fans come out and spend their hard-earned money to support the team, and they deserve to see nothing less than a full-throttle performance from the players.

As I begin to evaluate the current squad, tough decisions will need to be made regarding who stays and who goes. This is all part of the management process, and I am prepared to make the necessary changes to build a team that can truly compete at the highest level.

I am excited to embark on this new chapter with Matlock Town FC. Together, with the support of the community and the dedication of the players, I am confident that we can achieve great things and bring success to this beloved club.
