Texas hires Memphis Director of Recruiting
Investments in the personnel department made as a condition of the contract extension signed by Texas Longhorns head coach Steve Sarkisian last month led to Sunday’s hire of Memphis Tigers Director of Recruiting Todd Dunson, according to 247Sports.
Dunson announced his hire on Monday in a new role of Senior Player Personnel Coordinator.

Initially a baseball player at Columbus State, Dunson graduated from Georgia State in 2021 with a degree in business administration and management, spending a year as a project manager for a construction company before joining Georgia Tech as a recruiting specialist in 2023.
Memphis hired Dunson last year as its Director of Recruiting, a move that paid off with the Tigers signing the top-ranked class in the AAC, a group that included consensus four-star quarterback Antwan Hill out of Georgia and consensus four-star wide receiver Xavier Johnson out of the Metroplex.
Dunson joins a personnel department led by General Manager Brandon Harris, a rising star in the industry as programs adopt a model that looks increasingly like the NFL.
