USC Football: 4-Talented-Star LB Recruit Considering Commitment to Trojans

USC Football is aiming to secure a highly sought-after four-star recruit, but the Top 100 prospect may be slightly beyond their reach.

Linebacker Madden Faraimo is taking his time with his college decision, as reported by On3 Recruits. He stated, “I’m going to wait on the decision. I am not sure when I will commit. I was supposed to but wasn’t ready.”

Faraimo plans to attend several games this season and hopes to visit a campus again if his schedule permits. Currently, his top four choices include the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, Texas Longhorns, Washington Huskies, and USC Trojans.

Madden Faraimo, a native of Southern California, stands 6-foot-3 and weighs between 215 and 240 pounds. He initially played as a safety before transitioning to linebacker during his junior year.

Although Faraimo also participated in baseball, he chose to concentrate exclusively on football. His sister, Megan Faraimo, was the top-ranked softball recruit in the class of 2018 and excelled as a four-time All-American pitcher at UCLA from 2019 to 2023.

Currently, Faraimo is ranked as the 63rd overall prospect in the nation and the seventh-best linebacker, according to 247Sports. National recruiting analyst Greg Biggins noted his impressive size and versatility, stating, “He has a big 6-3, 215-pound frame and shows the ability to play sideline to sideline at inside linebacker or line up as an edge rusher in passing situations. He brings a lot of positional versatility and could play any linebacker position or develop into a full-time edge rusher in college.”

Madden Faraimo, a highly sought-after four-star linebacker, is nearing a college commitment decision. The 6-foot-3, 215-240 pound prospect from San Juan Capistrano, California is currently ranked as the nation’s No. 63 overall player and seventh-rated linebacker by 247Sports.

Faraimo’s top four schools are Notre Dame, Texas, Washington, and USC. He has taken official visits to Notre Dame, Ohio State, and Texas, while unofficially visiting USC in June. According to recruiting predictions, Notre Dame is the frontrunner to land Faraimo’s commitment with a 96.1% likelihood.

Faraimo’s athleticism and versatility make him an attractive recruit. Recruiting analyst Greg Biggins praised his abilities, stating: “He plays with plenty of quick twitch, moves well laterally and shows good instincts. Is comfortable dropping in coverage and has flashed solid cover skills in various 7v7 settings. With his frame, toughness and athleticism, his upside is very high and he has the ability to be an impact player from day one in college.”

While Notre Dame appears to be the frontrunner, USC is still actively pursuing Faraimo. The Trojans are hoping to land the talented linebacker to boost their already strong 2025 recruiting class. However, Faraimo’s decision remains uncertain, and anything can happen when he officially announces his commitment.
