Hugh Freeze and the Auburn Tigers have faced a tough season on the field, but they’re thriving in recruiting. Right now, Auburn’s key figure is three. Deuce Knight, a five-star quarterback from Lucedale, Mississippi, has switched his commitment from Notre Dame to Auburn. With this addition, the Tigers now have three five-star commitments for the 2025 class, positioning Freeze’s recruiting class at No. 3 in the nation, trailing only Ohio State and Alabama.

This recruiting achievement has been a long time coming for Auburn. Knight has attended all four of Auburn’s games this fall and recently completed an official visit. Previously committed to Notre Dame since September 2023, he ultimately chose Auburn due to the opportunity to play in the SEC and his strong relationship with the coaching staff, according to On3. Knight is a highly sought-after quarterback, ranked as the No. 5 quarterback in the nation and the No. 29 overall player by the 247Sports Composite.
