3-Team Warriors Proposal To Move Wiggins & More to Heat for $146 Million Star

Wiggins and More Would Be Moved to Heat for $146 Million Star Under 3-Team Warriors Proposal

This offseason, the Golden State Warriors have the assets to deal, which will allow them to team up Stephen Curry with a new co-star. The Miami Heat and Orlando Magic would receive Andrew Wiggins and other players from the Warriors in a blockbuster three-team trade that was suggested by Bleacher Report’s Andy Bailey. Jimmy Butler’s trade to the Warriors would be the deal’s main story.

Butler, Cole Anthony, and Caleb Houstan would go to the Warriors.

Wiggins, Moses Moody, Brandin Podziemski, a Golden State first-round selection in 2025, a Golden State first-round selection in 2027, a Golden State first-round selection in 2029, and a 2026 second-round pick from Orlando (via Detroit and/or Milwaukee) are the items the Heat would receive.

“Golden State’s title window might not reopen for long, but it would open quite a bit. Although Butler’s durability is a problem, he was maybe one of the top 5–10 players in 2022–2023 and a contender for the top 20 this season, according to Bailey’s May 31 post. With Curry and Thompson on either side of him, it would be extremely difficult to cover his cutting, playmaking, and passing. He and Green might be the cornerstones of an extremely scary defense.

After Kevin Durant, of course, if he were to play to the best of his abilities in 2024–2025 (taking into consideration the inevitable aging process), he would rank as Curry’s second-greatest teammate of all time.

Jimmy Butler is expected to be of “some degree” interest to the Golden State Warriors

Butler and the Miami Heat have not yet finalized a contract extension, which has led to some trade rumors. The Athletic’s Anthony Slater stated that he anticipates the Golden State Warriors to “enter the conversation” should the Heat decide to make Butler available.

On May 30, Slater said, “I would expect the Warriors to enter the conversation to some degree if the Heat shop Jimmy Butler.”

On May 2, John Hollinger of The Athletic reported that there have been strong rumblings that Butler’s future might be elsewhere due to his “declining play” and “constant absences.”

Jimmy Butler is eligible for an extension, but Hollinger said that there are growing rumblings that his future may not be in Miami due to his poor performance this season and his frequent absences.

How the Warriors Would Benefit from Butler

If Butler is included in Bailey’s proposed trade, the Golden State Warriors would have made a significant acquisition. But since Curry is only getting older, throwing in the towel might be the best course of action.

Substituting Wiggins, Moody, and Podziemski would be difficult. When healthy, Wiggins is one of the NBA’s best defenders. While Moody and Podziemski have performed admirably thus far in their careers, bringing in young players for a brief championship window might always backfire.

Nevertheless, over his career, Butler has been selected to five NBA All-Star teams, five All-Star teams, and five All-Defensive teams. He has distinguished himself in the postseason by stepping up his skills to a new level. In the 2022–2023 playoffs, he averaged 26.8 points, 6.5 rebounds, and 5.9 assists.

Though he will be 35 at the beginning of the 2024–25 campaign, the 34-year-old might be able to relieve Curry of some of the offensive load during the regular season. Butler would help the Warriors pursue a second championship by providing them with another experienced postseason player.
