Last Time Out
The Pirates got back in the win column by surviving an epic UAB comeback after leading by as many as 19 points on Wednesday night. The margin got down to just two points on multiple occasions in the second half but the team stood strong and weathered everything the Blazers threw at them. Amiya Joyner finished the game with a great outing with 22 points, 11 rebounds, three steals and two blocks. She was joined in double-figure scoring by Devin Hagemann who had 11 points, five rebounds and five assists in the contest.

Scouting Tulsa
The Golden Hurricane enters the game with a 12-11 record overall and a better-than-.500 record in league play at 6-5 after thumping Charlotte by 28 in their last outing. Delanie Crawford had a game-high 23 points in the game and on the season leads the team with 16.5 points per game. Hadley Perriman is another player to watch as she averages just shy of a double-double per game with 9.6 points and 9.4 rebounds per game after a 12 and 11 double-double at Charlotte on Wednesday.
Series History
The Golden Hurricane extended their all-time edge over the Pirates to 17-14 earlier this season in a series dating back to 1986. It was a 93-84 game in Tulsa at the end of December in which Crawford absolutely torched the Pirates for 36 points to lead four Tulsa players into double-figures scoring. Jayla Hearp led the Pirates with 21 points in that game but the team couldn’t keep pace with the hot shooting hosts in the Reynolds Center that night.
Ball Security
With just 10 turnovers on Wednesday, the Pirates matched their season low and fewest since Nov. 10 against James Madison.
My Oh MyMy
Joyner has now eclipsed 1,000 career points and 800 career rebounds. The junior is the 26th thousand-point scorer in program history and is just the second Pirate with 1,000 points and 100-or-more blocks (Marcia Girven). She is the sixth player in program history with 800 rebounds and has moved into fifth, passing All-American Mary Denkler who finished her career with 801. Joyner also ranks 30th in the NCAA this season with nine double-doubles.
