Jose Ramirez and Steven Kwan of the Cleveland Guardians have been formally announced as the starting lineup for the 2024 MLB All Star Game.
Two players from the AL Central-leading Cleveland Guardians will start for the Arlington, Texas, MLB All-Star game in 2024.
Following two rounds of fan voting, outfielder Steven Kwan and third baseman Jose Ramirez were both selected for tonight’s starting lineup.
Ramirez’s selection marks his fourth consecutive selection and his sixth All-Star Game appearance overall. Batting is the cornerstone of the Cleveland team.276 with 76 RBIs and 23 home homers. In the second round of voting, Ramirez comfortably defeated Jordan Westburg of the Baltimore Orioles, a third baseman who has had a strong 2024 season.
With an OPS of.945 in 2024, Kwan, a two-time Gold Glove winner, is hitting.362 and making his first-ever All-Star game start.
Kwan has missed time this season, but his strong play after coming back from injury made him an obvious choice to start in the highly anticipated match. He will now play alongside Juan Soto and Aaron Judge of the New York Yankees. The young outfielder most likely defeated Anthony Santander of the Orioles.
There’s still hope for more Guardians to travel to Arlington, as the Commissioner’s Office will choose pitchers and reserve players.
The American League team will probably start pitchers from Cleveland’s formidable bullpen. With a.067 ERA, 25 saves, and 39 strikeouts this season, Emmanuel Clase has established himself as one of the top closers in the major leagues.
Globe Life Field will host the MLB All-Star Game in 2024 on Tuesday, July 16.
